FINALLY some work on the play structure.

For those of you who don't know, this has been hanging out in our back yard for going on 1.5 years now. This picture was taken in February of last year... The beginnings of an AWESOME play structure for the kids. We had dismantled an old structure we had found on craigslist and were re building it to suit our needs.... Then life happened, other things became priority and it just sat waiting.
Refer to that blog post here

BUT, finally we have begun work on this piece for the kids. We are so excited and so are they. Here is the progress we have made over the last 4 days! Along with some random photos of the kids while working.

Starting the upper deck, most of which was repurposed from the multiple play structures we have dismantled from friends and craigslist.

They were so excited that as soon as there were enough boards on they just HAD to sit up there and watch daddy.

They couldn't contain their excitement so we temporarily propped up one slide and a ladder so they could start playing on it.

Underneith, we have an AWESOME pea gravel pit. Way better then sand... way way better!

Already digging and dumping with their trucks...

I think this was seriously the best idea we have had!

Slide #1 officially in place

Our little workers!

Pea gravel containment in process:

This front will eventually have a little counter and a play kitchen/restaurant area

We got all these beautiful planks of cedar from Maria after she removed them from her wonderful victorian house! They are perfect!!

Half the upper deck complete. So satisfying!!

All we have bought so far:
a few 2x4's and some screws.
